Only what you type into the quote form: your name, your contact number, the suburb the work is in, and a description of the job.

The form does not ask for your email address, your street address or your ID number. Please do not include bank details or identity numbers in the job description — there is no reason for us to have them at this stage.

If you phone or message us on WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that conversation. WhatsApp messages sit in WhatsApp, under Meta’s own privacy terms.

To reply to you, arrange a site visit and price the work. Nothing else. We do not use it for marketing, we do not build a mailing list, and we never sell, rent or share it with anyone looking to sell you something.

When you submit the form, your details are sent as a single email to dennis@starpainters.co.za and are not saved anywhere on this website. There is no customer database behind this site.

Two suppliers handle that email on the way through: Resend, which delivers it, and Vercel, which hosts the site. Both are outside South Africa, so your enquiry crosses a border in the ordinary course of being emailed. Both are bound to protect it and to use it only to provide their service.

Once the email arrives, it sits in Dennis’s mailbox like any other enquiry, and quotes may be written up in our own records.

This site sets no cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker of any kind. Nothing here follows you around the internet.

Our host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. To stop the quote form being abused, the site also holds the sending IP address in memory for ten minutes; it is never written to disk.

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted once they are clearly not going anywhere. Where we do the work, we keep the job records for as long as the law requires us to keep business records, and so that we can honour the workmanship warranty on your job.

We photograph our work and some of those photographs appear on this site. We do not publish street addresses, house numbers, vehicle registrations or the names of private clients, and we ask before using photographs of a client’s property. If your property appears here and you would rather it did not, tell us and it comes down.

Under POPIA you are entitled to:

• ask what information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
• ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
• object to how we are using it.

Email dennis@starpainters.co.za and we will deal with it. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

If what we do with your information changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
